Description
Mycept is Panacea Biotec's branded mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) — an immunosuppressant that inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, selectively suppressing T and B lymphocyte proliferation. Used in dermatology as a steroid-sparing agent for pemphigus, severe eczema, and lupus.

- Pyoderma gangrenosum
Dosage
1–1.5g twice daily (total 2–3g/day). Onset of action 4–8 weeks.

Side Effects
- GI upset (diarrhoea, nausea — common)
- Bone marrow suppression
- Increased infection risk
- Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (rare)
Warnings
- Pregnancy Category D — teratogenic
- Regular CBC monitoring mandatory
- GI side effects common — may need dose adjustment
- Avoid live vaccines
- Increased risk of lymphoma (long-term)
